Or, have you been impacted by the opioid crisis or passionate about helping to address the crisis? Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services, Inc. (CMJTS) invests in providing the support needed to help individuals through the process of beginning a new career based on your focus. Our goal is twofold: At CMJTS, we understand that every individual's needs are different, and we do our best to accommodate them. One, we provide opportunities to encourage more individuals to enter professions that could address the crisis. Or two, help individuals in recovery or those impacted by the crisis gain relevant skills training to enter career pathways and find and retain employment in in-demand occupations. What are Opioids? If you don't know what an opioid drug is, it's hard to determine if you, a friend, a family member, or someone you know has been impacted by them. Opioids can be prescription medications often referred to as painkillers, or they can be so-called street drugs. The most commonly used opioids are: - Prescription opioids, such as Codeine, OxyContin, Morphine, and Vicodin Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid 50-100 times more potent than morphine ? Heroin, an illegal drug How Can We Help? - Career Coaching: Help determine employment goals, develop a résumé, apply for jobs, practice interviewing skills, secure interview attire, and address transportation. - Education Pathways: Upskill and find the confidence needed to achieve your goals. - Job Search Assistance: CMJTS has an established network of 100s of local employers interested in hiring CMJTS program participants. - Resource and Referral: Provide resources for the whole family needed to maintain self-sufficiency, including referrals to at-risk youth programming, nutrition supports, financial literacy, income tax filing services, rental housing assistance, basic skills literacy, and re-entry assistance. - Mentoring: Your CMJTS employment specialist will challenge you to be all you can be and provide you with an environment where you can share the issues confronting you personally and professionally.
